4th Gen Tacoma: Fixing Track Bar Geometry After a Lift
A B.O.T.C.K. bracket bolted to the factory axle mount. Powder coated quarter-inch mild steel, no welding required.
The 2024 and newer Tacoma is a different truck underneath than the one it replaced, but one thing carried over unchanged. Lift it, and the track bar ends up at an angle it was not designed to work at.
What the lift changes
The track bar locates the rear axle side to side. It is fixed at the frame on one end and the axle on the other, so as the suspension cycles, the axle travels through an arc rather than straight up and down.
At stock height that arc is shallow enough not to matter. Raise the body and the bar sits at a steeper angle, which makes the arc more pronounced. The axle now moves noticeably sideways through its travel.
You feel that as the rear stepping out over washboard, a shuffle through dips that was not there before, or a general sense that the back of the truck is doing something you did not ask it to do.
The correction
A correction bracket relocates the mounting point so the bar sits closer to level at your new ride height. That flattens the arc and the axle stops walking.

Installing it
You need a socket set including 14mm, 18mm and 19mm, a torque wrench, a pry bar, a jack and stands, and a round file for the bolt holes if the powder coat has tightened them.
Support the axle, pull the wheel for access, and loosen the frame side bolt first to take pressure out of the bar before you touch the axle side. The supplied M14 flange bolt runs in with an 18mm socket.
Torque all bolts to 90 to 100 ft-lbs, then re-torque the full set after 100 miles. That second step is not optional. Hardware seats in and powder coat compresses, and a bolt that was correct in the driveway can be under spec a week later.

How to know it worked
Get the truck back on the ground and look at the track bar. It should be parallel to the ground or close to it. Then drive it. The lateral movement you were chasing should be gone.

Does this fit the 3rd gen Tacoma?
No. This kit is for the 4th generation, 2024 and newer. Check the listing for your year.
Do I need an alignment afterward?
The kit addresses rear axle location, not front wheel angles. If you lifted in the same session, align after the correction work.
What lift height does this suit?
It is aimed at lifted trucks where track bar angle has become a problem. If you are running stock height you do not need it.
