Ordering From Dr. KDSS: Shipping, Returns, and Timelines
Ordering a suspension part from a small shop you found online is a fair thing to be cautious about. Here is exactly what happens after you click buy, what shipping costs, what the return terms are, and how to reach me if something is wrong. No surprises, because surprises turn into returns and neither of us wants that. I am Dom, I run this shop.
How much does shipping cost?
US orders ship free. There is no minimum and no threshold to hit. If you are ordering within the United States, the price you see on the product page is the price.
International orders are calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination. I use Boxify, which works out the best fit box and pulls live carrier rates, so you are seeing an actual rate rather than a padded flat fee. I ship worldwide using UPS, USPS, and DHL.
How fast do orders go out?
Most orders are processed within 24 to 48 business hours. A few made to order items take 48 to 72 hours, and the product page tells you when that applies. Some custom or high demand parts need additional time, and the Gen 3 correction kit in particular can take 36 to 48 hours in some cases.
Orders placed over a weekend or on a holiday get processed the next business day. Once a package leaves my facility, transit time belongs to the carrier, and I cannot speed that up or control their delays.
What about customs and import fees?
Import duties, customs fees, and taxes are set by your country and are the buyer's responsibility. I have no control over those charges and no way to predict them for you, because they vary by country, by declared value, and sometimes by carrier.
One specific thing worth knowing if you are in Canada. UPS shipments sometimes add import fees in the $100 to $120 range. If you are comparing options at checkout, DHL or USPS may work out better for you. That is not me steering you toward a carrier I prefer, it is a pattern I have seen enough times that it would be unfair not to mention it.
What if my package is lost or arrives damaged?
Every order is automatically covered up to $100 for loss or damage. If your order is worth more than that and you want full coverage, purchase additional shipping insurance at checkout. That is a decision to make when ordering, not after something goes wrong.
If a package does go missing or shows up damaged, contact the carrier first to file a claim, since they are the ones holding the record of what happened to it. Then email me with your order number and details and I will help where I can.
What is the return policy?
Contact me before you send anything back. I need to approve the return and give you instructions, and returns that show up unannounced create problems for both of us.
The terms, stated plainly:
- Items must be unused, uninstalled, and in brand new condition with no signs of attempted installation.
- There is a 20 percent restocking fee on all returns, no exceptions.
- I cover the cost of the return shipping label.
- The item has to be packaged securely. If it arrives back damaged or badly packed, I will send it back to you and the return will not be processed.
I am not going to soften the restocking fee, because it is real and it catches people out. Twenty percent on a $220 kit is $44. That is exactly why I would rather you measure your truck and email me questions before ordering than find out afterward.
Can I exchange instead of returning?
Yes, I do offer exchanges, but the shipping economics are different. On an exchange you cover shipping both ways, returning the original item and shipping the replacement. The part still has to be in brand new, unused condition to qualify.
For a wrong size bracket, an exchange is usually the better route than a return and re order. Email me and we will sort out which makes more sense for your situation.
How do I avoid ordering the wrong thing?
Take one measurement and send me one email. For any track bar correction kit, park on level ground, measure from the ground to the center of the frame side track bar bolt, then from the ground to the center of the axle side bolt, and subtract. A difference of 1.5 to 2.99 inches means the Shorty version. Three inches or more means Standard.
Then confirm your truck actually has KDSS by looking underneath for hydraulic cylinders on the sway bars with hard lines running between them. No cylinders means no KDSS, and most of my catalog will not apply.
If you are still unsure after that, email me your platform, year, market, lift height, and those two measurements. I will tell you what you need, and I will tell you when you do not need anything. Talking someone out of an unnecessary part costs me one sale and saves me three emails later.
Frequently asked questions
How do I start a return or exchange?
Email dom@drkdss.com with your full name, order number, the items involved, the reason, and your shipping address if you want an exchange. I will review it and send you the next steps.
Can I change my shipping address after ordering?
Contact me immediately if you spot a mistake. Once an order has shipped, the address cannot be changed, and undeliverable packages caused by a wrong address are not something I can absorb.
Is everything on the site actually in stock?
If you can add it to the cart, it is in stock. Some items do sell out and a few are currently unavailable, so the cart is the honest source rather than the listing existing.
Do you sell lift kits?
No. I make the parts that correct your geometry after a lift, whoever made the lift. I do not sell lifts, I do not sell accumulators, and I do not sell KDSS hydraulic fluid. If your problem is in the hydraulic side of the system, buying brackets from me will not fix it, and I would rather tell you that than take the order.
Questions before you order?
Email me at dom@drkdss.com with your platform and lift height and I will point you at the right part or tell you that you do not need one. Browse the B.O.T.C.K. correction kits or the full KDSS components lineup, and if you want the system explained first, start with how KDSS works.
