There is a reason two identical trucks with the same lift can drive completely differently. Handling on a KDSS vehicle is the sum of three things, and most builds only address one of them.

The three levers

Roll resistance comes from the sway bars and everything that mounts them. This is what stops the body leaning in a corner.

Axle location comes from the track bar and the control arms. This is what keeps the axle centered under the truck as the suspension moves.

Wheel angles come from alignment. This is what the tires do relative to the road.

They interact. A perfect alignment on a truck whose axle walks sideways will not feel planted. Stiffer bars on a truck with worn links will not feel any stiffer.

Work in this order

First, axle location. On a lifted truck the track bar sits at a steep angle, and a steeply angled bar arcs the axle sideways through its travel. Correcting that angle is the single biggest change most lifted KDSS trucks can make. Our B.O.T.C.K. kits bolt to the factory mounts in quarter-inch powder coated mild steel, no welding.

Second, the connection points. Worn links, spreading clamps and tired bushings all show up as vagueness. Billet clamps in 6061 aluminum remove the flex at the mount so the bar acts when it is supposed to.

Third, alignment. Once the hardware is right, set the angles. Doing it earlier means doing it twice.

What each change actually feels like

Correcting track bar angle takes out the lateral shuffle over washboard and the sense that the rear is steering a little on its own. It is the change people notice on the drive home.

Firming the sway bar mounts sharpens turn in. The truck starts responding at the moment you turn rather than a beat later.

Bringing caster back makes the steering want to center itself on the highway. If your lifted truck feels like it needs constant small corrections, this is usually why.

What to leave alone

Do not defeat the hydraulics to chase articulation. You will give up on road stability for a gain you can get from geometry instead.

Do not fit a stiffer aftermarket bar to fix lean caused by worn links. You are adding rate to a system that is losing it somewhere else.
